Jellicoe has resigned and that Rear-Ad-miral Sir Rosslyn Wemyss wfll succeed him. Received Dec, 27, 6.16 p.m. London, Dec. 26. ' Vice-Admiral Sir Rosslyn E. Wemyss, KCJB., C.M.G., M.V.O. (Second Sea Lord), has been appointed to succeed Admiral Sir Joihn L. Jellicoe. The latter has been raised to the peerage in recognition of his very distinguished services. It is hoped that Lord Jellicoe's experience will be utilised later by another important appointment, (Vice-Admiral Sir R. E. Wemyss was born in 1864, entered the navy in 1877, secured a lieutenancy in 1887, commander 1898, and captain 1907. He was in command of the Second Battle Squadron in Wl2-13.)
