CHARGE OF MURDER.
MOTHER COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. By Telegraph.—Press Associatioa Christchurch, Dec. 22. The case in which Winifred Carrick was charged with tiie murder of her child, Donald Lewis Carrick, at Addingfon on December 8, was concluded in the Magistrate's Court last night. Evidence was given by Mr. and Mrs. Burns, with whom the- child was boarded, regarding incidents the night preceding the tragedy, ami also as to finding the body in the morning in the garden.
Evidence was also given by children of a cabman regarding inquiries made by accused as to where Mrs. Burns lived. Detective Gibson described the arrest of Winifred Carrick, whose stockings, skirt, and handbag were damp and dirty. Accused reserved her defence and was committed for trial.
