i | A GALLANT RESISTANCE. BY BRITISH DESTROYERS.
London, Dee. 18.
Tlie Copenhagen correspondent of the Morning Post says that survivor.? from, the Maracaibo, which was bound to a Danish port with coal, state that the British destroyers and trawlers made a most gallant resistanco and were only beaten by the arrival of enemy reinforcements. The defence of the warships enabled the mcrchantment to get nut of range of the enemy gunfire and make preparations for saving their crews. The battle was fought iu a fog. Tho sarvivor s are suffering greatly from exposure. NORWEGIAN STEAMER SUNK. SURVIVORS OF CONVOY LANDED. Received Dec. 20, 12.50 a.m. Copenhagen, Dee. 19. The Norwegian steamer Maidag has been torpedoed. Three of the crew were lost. One hundred and fifteen seamen belonging to the sunken convoy have arrived at a Norwegian harbor. TWO NEUTRAL SHIBS SUNK. London, Dec. 18. Two neutral merchantmen were sunk about tho same time as the trawlers off the Tyne.
