The Eltham Club has been engaged in a few games amongst members lately. A challenge by J. ore Murray and F. H. Bainard against the holders of the Ferns resulted in a fairly close game, but the holders, Messrs W. D. Ross (s.) and ,T, ifaipin, retained ownership, with the Bocres 18 to 15 in their favor. The Dawes' Pins have changed hands, a challenge team comprising L. B. Grimstone, A. Cronin, K. E. Carter, JV. D- Koss (s.), prevailing against the holders, A. E. Smalley, J. lialpln, L. X. l'airlmll, H. G. Carman (a.). At. the close of play'the total was 21 all, and, on an extra' head being played, Ross scored three and won by that margin. His rink now awaits a challenge. A meeting of the three clubs in Xew Plymouth was held on Wednesday evening, when it was decided to again hold the Xew Year full rink tournament on the three town greens on January 1 and 2. No prizes will lie given, and all profits are to be handed to the Taranaki Bowling Centre's Patriotic Fund. The conditions are similar (o thoscof last year: Entries. 10s per rink; niiml'er of bead* to be played, 10; semi-finals and finals to be played on New Plvmouth jir. en: open to all clubs safiiliated to Taranaki Centre; entries to close on Thursday evening, i'Dtli inst., at S o'clock.
