Excellent acceptances have been received for the Txranaki Jockey Club's meeting, which this' year has been reduced to a one day fixture, which it is evident will prove even more Successful than in previous years. As u=ual, the club's eommittca and its sccrjtaiy (Mr. E.'P. Webster) arc making complete arrangements to ensure the successful conduct of the gathering, and followers of racing can rely on an enjoyable day's outing. The acceptances total 1.13. as compared witli, 110 for the first tiny last year. The principal increase is in the Rahotu Hack Hurdles, where the' acceptors number 14. as compared with S last year. Tn open events, the Christmas Handicap has drawn S. the same as last year, whilst the Flying shows an increase from 0 to 11.
