EMPLOYMENT OF ELIGIBLE ALLIES PROHIBITED. Melbourne, Deo. 10. Mr. Hughes has announced that negotiations aro proceeding amongst the Allied nations, whereby subjects residing in Allied countries other than their own nre liable for military service. Until negotiations aro concluded the Government proposes to issue a regulation prohibiting the employment of eligible Allied subjects, thus combating the Opposition statements that Allied subjects will take the place of Australians cilled up under the Government scheme.
