BUSH WORKER CRUSHED BY TREE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. < Whangarei, Dec. 7. Andrew Hughes, a quarter caste, while working in the Kauri Timber Company's bush at Ngapipito, Bay- of Islands, met with a fatal accident yesterday, 4 Kauri tree, when falling, broke down a tawa tree, and the latter pinned Hughes to the ground. He was extricated at much risk to rescuers, and conveyed 22 miles to Kawa Kawa hospital, but expired soon afterwards. He leaves a widow and three children, who are residing at Whangaroa. MISSING WOMAN'S FATE. Hamilton, Last Night. The body of a married woman named Wood, who has been missing since Friday last, was found in the Waikato river to-day.
