A letter was also read from Messrs Harris and Co. to the eil'eet that under the circumstances they were prepared to give the Council an option over a twoton chassis at the original quotation of £I2OO and £25 for additional cells, conditionally upon the Council p!acin» a firm offer, subject to the poll beiutr carried. ~

The Mayor moved the adoption of the report, which was seconded bv Cr. flavden.

(V. Oiffiths' asked for an understanding as to whether the business connected with the proposals taken at last meeting was taken in Council or in committee.

The Mayor ruled that the business had been taken in open Council.
