OPUNAKE RACING CLUB. The programme of the Opunake Racing Club for the meeting to be held on Monday March 18, 19 IS and approved by the Taranaki District Committee is a ' very attractive one. The stakes have been allocated as follows:—Hurdles £135; Maiden £IOO. Opunake Racing Club handicap, £2OO, Electric, £lO5, Welter, £lO5, St. tl'utrieks Handicap £lB5, Presidents, £135, Farewell £l3O. Both the Cup and the Flying, (Racing Club Handicap and St. Patricks) are open events. At a meeting of the committee held recently the following appointments were made:—Chairman of Committee: J. M. Hiekev; member of committee: S. Richards. The mortgage of £7OO on the property has been paid off and the Club now possesses unencumbered freehold, valued at £3,500. The Birdcage, Lawn, and buildings are being enlarged and improved.
