BAND CARNIVAL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee set up to make- arrangements for the carnival which is to be held by the Citizens' Band Committee, in aid of the fund for building a now band room, was hold last night, when there were present Messrs S. G. Smith (chairman), F. W. G* MeLeod, (!. W. Browne, A. S. Brooker. E. Sole, C. Ward, F. Coleman, V. Real, T. Petty, F. Moverlcy, L. H. Honoyfisld, A. Bullians, R. J. Dearo, R. L. Mellroy, H. Tj. Northern, and H. R. Cattley, Mr. S. fi. Smith was appointed chairman of the committee, and Mr. A. Eu!lians secretary. , It was unanimously decided to hold the fete on the Recreation Grounds on December 27. Sub-committees were s-t ut> as follow:—Programme: Afes>sra V. Heal (chairman), J. W. Ilavden, S. G. Smith R. L. Mellrov, C. C. Ward, R. Bennoeh, F. W. G. MeLeod, P. J, Flanfcgan, O. J. Ilowarth. Grounds and Advertising Committee-. Messrs T. Petty (onvoncr), F. Coleman, W. J. Ponn, H. J. Moverley, FI. R. Cattley, A. S. Brooker, R. J. Dearo, G. W. Browne. It was resolved to ask Mrs. W. J. Ponn to call a meeting of ladies for the purpose of setting up a ladies' committee. It was resolved that the fete open at 11 a.m. The general committee will meet next Wednesday in Mr. Cattley's office. '
