THEFT FROM A TRANSPORT. By Telegrapli.—Press Atsofiation. Wellington, Last Night. Edward Sullivan, a trimmer abor.rd a transport, pleaded guilty to the attempted theft of a orate of cheese, the property of the Defence Department. The magistrate remarked that stealing from ships was rifo throughout the' Dominion, and something must be done to put a stop to it. A sentence of si3c monthi was imposed.
