A MYSTERIOUS ASSAULT

At two o'clock a young girl clerk in a local commission agent's office, on returning, unlocked the front door, and was immediately attached, a towel being placed over her head' to prevent her seeing, and a handkerchief over her month, Her hands were then tied together, and the intruder left. Nothing is missing, the cash box on the table being untouched. Tho girl struggled to the next door and gave an alarm. After her release she fainted, but shortly recowed. She Avas not otherwise interfered with. !fhe motive of the assault is a mystery, *
