Washington, Nov. 12. Dispatches from France Btate that American tropps and supplies arc arriving in increasing numbers. The U-boats have not claimed a single life. Conditions on the American sector continue normal. There is intermittent artillery activity. It is reported that 200 Germans attempted to raid the American trendies on the night of November 6, but completely failed and suffered some losses. GERMAN PEACE INTRIGUES. Paris, Nov. 12. Newspapers urge the Allied Governments to prepare for German peace moves, following the enemy successes in Italy. ; Intrigues are increasing in Vatican circles, arid the Pope i? summoning the principal prelates to Rome, in the hope of gaining their support for future pacifist overtures. It is reported that the Austriai) officers urged their men forward by promising to obtain peace at Venice. ALLIES' CONFERENCE CONFIDENT. Paris. Nov. 12. Mr. Lloyd George and 31. Venizelos arrived within ten minutes of each other and were met by some notables. XL Painleve has returned. He says that, absolute agreement exists between the Anglo-French and Italy, adding that the Allies' conference was completely confident. ARTILLERY ACTIVITY CONTINUES. Aus. and N.Z. Sir Douglas Haig reports: There is considerable hostile artillerying northeastward of Ypres and in the neighborhood of Steenbeke. Our artillerying ■continues.
