The position regarding cheese is that an offer was mftiji by the Imperial authorities of 9}d per pound for this seasons' output, and at a tteeting of cheese producers held in Wellington on the 31st ult. it wna jigreed (o'acecpt the price offered, details' to be Arranged later. In the fcase of Witter, a representative meeting of butter p&ducera was held on the 2nd inst., prKeh.it was agreed to accept the price offered by the Imperial Government, and, al with cheese, certain details to, be ijranged later. Since that time the' Commissioner has been endeavoring; to finally arrange details, but up to llie present he has not been able to say that the arrangements in regard to the'detalls submitted arc complete. *1 ftp now anxiously awaiting a sta'iemtii from the High Commissioner, but I am confident that the details of both transactions will be satisfactorily arranged within r day or two.
