A SERIOUS CHARGF By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Supreme Court, the grand jury reduced the charge against Hannah Matilda Dalton to manslaughter, in connection with the alleged use of an instrument, and also returned a true bill against Percy Norman Henry, of being a party to manslaughter. ALLEGED BETTING FRAUDS. Wellington, Last Night. The trial of Frederick Campbell Eraser, John Edward Fitzgerald, and Jdliii MeWillinms on charges of attempting to obtain £975 from Henry Martimla'e and others by false pretences was commenced to-day. The evidence so far brought forward is mainly on the lines that wan heard in the lower court. The rase i« not expected to finish before Wednesday.
