At the Supreme Court, the grand jury reduced the charge against Hannah Matilda Dalton to manslaughter, in connection with the alleged use of an instrument, and also returned a true bill against Percy Norman Henry, of being a party to manslaughter. ALLEGED BETTING FRAUDS. Wellington, Last Night. The trial of Frederick Campbell Eraser, John Edward Fitzgerald, and Jdliii MeWillinms on charges of attempting to obtain £975 from Henry Martimla'e and others by false pretences was commenced to-day. The evidence so far brought forward is mainly on the lines that wan heard in the lower court. The rase i« not expected to finish before Wednesday.
