ENTERTAINMENTS.
A DELIGHTFUL ENTERTAINMENT. AT THE~EMPIRE. Modern society in its sordid phases is mercilessly dealt with in "Clover's Rebellion," the Greater Vitagraph production, which drew a packed house at the Empire last evening. The story is one of a passionate love that breaks through all convention and defeats the barbarous schemes-of the heroine's many crazed relations by whkih they hope to sell the beautiful heiress to the highest bidder. The cast is particularly strong and everyone will be charmed with the capable new leading man of the Vitagraph studios, Rudolph Cameron, whose natural and manly acting is nothing less than wonderful. The drama is in light vein until a totally unexpected murder charge is hurled at the head of the heroine, who by the way is Anita Stewart. The settings are Unique for their luxury and splendor of appointments, and the whole play makes high water mark of Vitagraph productions. Also on this really first-class programme 'is the "Topical Budget" and Oharlie Chaplin, who strikes form in "The Rink" with an excellent company surrounding him. Everyone will be surprised at his cleverness on the rollers, where he is as much at home as on those quaint feet. Nothing for broad comedy could be expected to beat a skating rink, and Charlie's wibbly-wobbly feet and solemn unwinking eyes extract the last ounce of fun possible. The same programme will be repeated tonight and tomorrow.
