DISTRICT NEWS.
TARIKI. (From Our Own Correspondent). Mrs, Prujean has received word from the Defence Department that her son Alfred has been admitted to Walton-on-Thames Hospital suffering from severe gun shot wounds. Another well-known Tariki boy, Private E. J. Kilsby, is among the list of wounded.
Recent incoming mails received by relatives of many of our local boys at the front give interesting information of their experiences, Ernie Eason is at Hornchurch Hospital, still under treatment for the wound he received at Messines.
An interesting letter from Geo. Hucker was received by his brother, in wWch he gives a good account of his doings when on leave in England. Sergeant A. Reid has been severely wounded in the shoulder. Letters were also received from W. and Bert Laurence, H. Swanson and A. Long, who were in the fighting round La Bassee. The last news from Charlie Glen was that he was in hospital suffering from the effects of gas.
