STRIKE ON SMALL VESSELS ENDEEI By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the members of the Wellington hranch of tie Seamen's Union concerned in the strike affecting the small vessels, it was decided that the. men should resume work to-morrow on the terms existing prior to the dispute. It is understood that the Prime Minister undertook to arrange a conference with the shipowners, and on that as« aurance the men decided to return tq duty. MASTERTON SOLICITOR'S- CASS. The Full Court'delivered judgment in the ease Skipper v. Gumming, an appeal against the conviction of appellant bv tlie magistrate at Rotorua und«r the War Regulations for publishing a statement likely to interfere with recruiting. The court held that the words used by appellant were a violation of the regulations, and dismissed the appeal with £ 10 costs, witnesses' expenses and disbursements. The court also decided that the Supreme Court has no power to vary or amend a sentence imposed by a magistrate, and that it could only affirm or. quash the conviction.
