• THEFTS ON THE MAORI. By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Christchurch, Oct. 23. At the Police Court, Victor Fanning Fraser was charged with the theft ot jewellery on the Maori on October 15, and was convicted and sentenced to six months' imprisonment, to be cumulative upon a previous sentence of 3 months, imposed at Lyttelton for other thefts on the Maori, in addition to a period of reformative treatment served. BREACHES OF LICENSING ACT. Hamilton, Last Night. William Brown, licensee of the Central Hotel, Cambridge, whs lined £2 for allowing the serving of liquor to a youth of 20 years. John Calker, barman, was fined £5 and costs for serving the youth. Kov Hastings, a printer, was fined £1 for shouting. GISBORNE SHOW.
