Next sale on Thursday, November 8, 1917. On Monday, October 15, we held our annual full fair in our Stratford yards. Almost all the bulls were sold at satisfactory prices, especially the inferior class. ' The principal feature was the marked improvement in demand for the Shorthorn. Holsteins made last year's prices, while Jerseys showed a marked decline. Shorthorns Higns to 40gns, Holsteins 9gns to 22gns, Jerseys lOJgns to 15gns.' Our supplementary bull fair will be 'held in these yards on Monday, October 29, at I o'clock. On Tuesday, October 10, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards. We had a, full yarding and a steady demand throughout. All classes, including sheep, made satisfactory prices. Store cows £7 17s to £9 12s flil, 2} to 3-year steers £l2 ss, empty heifers £6 15b to £7 15s 6d, yearling steers £6 8s to £7 14s, yearling heifers £4 10b to £G Is flu, yearling bulls £7 5s to £8 10s, hoggets 325, ewes and lambs 30s to 40s, old empty ewes 15s. In dairy pens: Cows £9 los to £l4 10s, calved heifers, small, £7 15s to £ll for fair, springing heifers, small, £8 to £ll 12s Cd for better. Our next sale in these yards will be held on Tuesday, October 30. at 1 p.m. Since we last reported, we have sold the following lines privately.
