Reecived Oct. 18, 8 p.m. Rome, Oct, 17. Italian arrivals for the week were 315, sailings 328. Sinkings, four steamers under 1500 tons; unsuccessfully attaoked two. BRITISH STEAMER SUBMARINED. London, Oct. 17. The captain'and 49 of the crew of a British steamer have landed. They report that they were attacked by two submarines and sunk without warning. The submarines shelled the crew after they had entered the boats, killing two and wounding six. NORWAY'S LARGEST STEAMER SUNK. Received Oct. 18, 7.50 p.m. Christiania, Oct. 17. The Themis, Norway's largest steamer, tob torpedoed in the Mediterranean, rhe sailer Bethel was sunk in the North 3ea. Both crews arc missing. . AN ACT OF REVENGE. Athens, Oct. 17. It is universally believed here that the submarining of the Italian mail stamer Citta di Bari, in which 200 Greeks perished, including consular officials returning from Turkey via Switzerland, was ordered by Constantine as an act of revenge for his dethroning. THE FIRST STANDARD SHIP, Times Service. Received Oct. 18, 10,45 p.m. London, Oct. 17. In tht House of Commons, Sir' L. riiiozza' Money stated that three standard ships had been completed up to September 13. RESCUE OF VICTIMS. Received Oct. 18, 5.30 p.m. Melbourne, Oct. 18. The authorities report that an expedition left Papeete on October 10 md rescued the Seaddler's victims on Molpha Island."
