SOCIALIST LEADER'S VIEWS. SPEEDY PEACE VITAL TO WORKERS FUTURE OF ALSACE-LORRAINE. Reuter Service. Received Oct. 17, 5.5 p.m. Amsterdam, Oct. 10. Herr Ebert, president of the Socialist party in the Reichstag, presiding at a Socialist meeting at Wurzburg, said the speedy conclusion of peace was a vital necessity for the workmen in all countries. The policy of the mailed list after the war's frightful sorrows would disappear. If a ballot were taken, ninetenths of the people would approve of peace. -He declared that Dr. Miehaelis' regime spells the collapse of the present Government vsysteni in Germany. . ■ Another report states that Ebert said the Socialists favored Alsace-Lorraine paving complete republican autonomy and a constitution of equality with the other Federal States. ANOTHER PAPAL MOVE. Rome, Oct. 10. It is reported that a Consistory will probably be held late in November, when it is expected the Pope will make a new peace move. GERMANY'S TERMS. Received Oct. 17, 5.5 p.m. Copenhagen, Oct. 16. Herr Schiedemann, at the Wurzburg conference, declared that the enemy's demands were steadily growing more insane. "We will not relinquish a single foot of German territory, and will only give up what belongs to others. Our peace terms are Germany's inviolability, the freedom of the seas, and economic freedom."
