Mr. M. Trailer has teen elected chairman of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

v At the conclusion -of the meeting of the Hospital Board yesterday, Mr. E. Gilmour tendered his resignation. The Lieut. Little, mentioned yesterday as having been recently wounded} ii Lieut. N. F. Little, M.C., who wm wounded on October 4. He is the son ol Mr. J. Little, of Sentry Hill. Amongst those killed in action is Lieut. Pioy Foden, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Foden, of Hawera, who for some time was on the staff of Messrs Halliwell and Thomson, of Stratford. .

Private Leslie Batten, of Toktora, Ji reported to have died frotp wounds. About 18 months ago >he was fiuurried to Miss Exley, daughter of Mr. T. R. Exiey, of Inaha, and she Ii left with an infant son.

Messrs A. Morton (Mangorei), J. Brown (Maketawa), ,R, 'Qtogto (Stratford), and M. Hickey tfkpunikc) left for Wellington yesterday morning, to attend a conference of butter producers called by the Premier relative to the Imperial Government's offer for the season's output.
