THE ELLIOTT ASSAULT CASE. By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Auckland, Oct. 16. In the Police Court. Gunner Charles Clements and Herbert M'Entee were charged with having assaulted the Rev. Howard Elliott by striking him with a stick. The court was crowded, and there "was hooting and cheering when accused were called. The magistrate ordered the court to be cleared. Counsel for accused asked for an adjournment to obtain evidence from Wellington. The court granted a remand for one week.
