"METRO" AND "GOLD ROOSTER" FEATURES SHOWING AT THE « EMPIRE TO-NIGHT.

A brilliant double programme will be screened at the Empire'to-night when the star attractions will be a fine Metro wonderplay "The sealed Valley" and a gripping "Gold Rooster" feature "Hinton's Double." The Metro picture is an adaptation of the absorbing novel by Hulbert Frootner, and it is set in the picturesque and fascinating North West of Canada, with its wonderful woodland and river scenery. Prison life in its startling aspects comes in for some searchlight revelations in the great Pathe Rooster play, "Hinton's Double" Fred. Warde, who is the star in this production, plays a double role. The story is one, of a, remarkable likeness which was used to put the wrong man in prison for crime. It also shows how a man barters his honour and his liberty for his daughter's sake and makes the bargain with a traitor. A beautiful love romance develops during the story. The programme also includes a topical number. MATINEE OF "THE WHIP" TO-DAY AT EVERYBODY'S. FINAL SCREENING TO-NIGHT. Modern racing appointments "step on, step off" weighing machines uvhich record in writing the weight, machines of smart design for announcing the results, names of riders, and so on, and the splendid stands, enclosures and gardens, fill _ with interest the scenes of "The Whip"—the splendid photo-melodrama now doing record business. Alma Hanlon, as the pretty star, shows herself a clever horsewoman as well as a capable actress. There will be a special matinee performance of "The Whip" at 3 p.m. to-day and the final screening will take place to-night. TO-MORROW. BETTY NANSEN AS "LA TOSCA." To-morrow another magnificent Fox feature will head the programme when the famous actress Betty Nansen will lie starred in "The Song of Hate" a powerful portrayal of the. famous stage success. "La Tosca." There is a fine programme in support, including a Gauniont Graphic," a two reel Fox comedy "His Love Fight," and humorous Keystone on reeler. and an interesting film of "Russian Industries."
