ELTHAM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, Oct. 1(5. At a meeting of members of the O.E.M.S. Club, held last evening, Mr. T. C. Stanners presiding, the question of erecting new premises was discussed. The roll register is going on for the second century, and now the committee is faced with the problem of finding room for those desirous of attending. Forty were present at last night's meeting, when plans of the new building were submitted and, after discussion, generally approved. The matter of a site has not been finally decided, but this will be settled shortly. A pleasing feature was the attendance of returned soldiers, who are granted full membership privileges for six months and charged a small fee for tlie remainder of the year. On Saturday I ran into "our late town clerk, Corporal J. M. Poynter. In civilian days, besides being handy with the pencil, ho annexed several trophies for rifle and gun shooting. Camp life seems very agreeable, although at first he found the work solid going. The series of Home views secured by Mr. W. D. Ross, of the Overseas Club, and displayed in Mr. Wilkinson's windows, have attracted considerable attention, and are well worthy of more than passing notice. These include photos of royalty and the tanks. Mr. Baker, contractor for the new storage rooms for the Eltham Dairy Company, is making very good progress. The building will be about 102tf. by 62ft. j and a rise in the centre of about 24ft! He has several other concrete works in hand.
