QUARTERLY MEETING.. The quarterly meeting of the IMthod-' ist Church in the Xew Plymouth district was held on Thursday night in rke Whiteloy sicmoriai Church. 1].,. K e y ■ W. A. Sinclair, superintendent, of the circuit, presided, and there were also present the Rev. 11. L. iiichards (Fitzroy) and 24 lay representatives. Apologias for 'absence were, received from Mr. Souster (missioner), and Messrs V firifliths, C. E. Bellringer. and V,. Pcpperd!, The chairman announced that, .Mr. Griliiths, the senior steward, was not able to be present, on account of his son having met with a very serious accident. It was decided to convey io ilr. Criililhs a message expressing the sympathy of the meeting. It was reported that the members in full connection with th ■■■ circuit numbered 427, while there were ilii junior members. The financial statement was not complete, but was considered satisfactory, and the stewards wen: authorised to complete the balance-sheet subsequently; Special Sunday collections were authorised for the Whiteley, Fiizroy, and Eninklcigh Park Sunday school' anniversaries, and the St. Aubyn Sunday school and trust. The reports showed an improvement in Sunday school matters, out it was felt that this branch of work required thorough development, and it was decided to arrange for a conference to consider the matter during the quarter. *

Trjgge to hold a spiritual conference, A request from the Fitzrov officials to purchase a suitable section' as a site for a parsonage was acceded to. Mr. G. Carter, on behalf of the stewards, invited Keys. Sinclair and Richards to remain in the circuit for another year, and both ministers, accepted. It was agreed to invite Mr. Sonster to remain in the circuit a third year. Messi-s F. Souster, Sanders, and T>!lringer were elected as lav represcntaItires to the .November Synod, and Messrs (Gibson and Fisher as substitutes. | It was decided that services be again | held at Bell Block, but that before a ; recommencement was made a meeting /Should be held to discuss the question.
