ELTHAM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, Oct. 13. The County Council's steam roller, recently sold to the Sorowhenua County Council, was placed on the railway this morning, the embarkation being closely watched by several interested spectators. There is still another council meeting before the present members go out of office. The chairman (Cr. Belcher) states he is at present undecided whether to allow re-nomination for another term. So far the only opposition to present councillors is likely to be in the South Riding, the sitting member, Cr. Campbell, being likely to be opposed by the exchairman, Mr. J. P. Qjiin.
