liAWERA CLUE; The I!H7 season was formally opened by Hawera Bowling Club on Wednesday. Representatives from Stratford, i'ihama, Auroa, Opunake, Manaia and Kltham were present, all rinks being in use. In declaring the season open, and in welcoming the visitors, the president, Mr. A. W. Parkinson, trusted that the season would prove an enjoyable one. Looking round they could see that there were few eligible men present, thus indicating that the war was 011. The clubs had suffered .severely through enlistment, but they were proud of their comrades at the in.n: i In. j:ielc was then thrown by Mis* .in, and piny opened.
