Tapp. There was a fair attendance of parishioners in the Parisli Hall on Wednesday evening to discuss Mr. Newton King's offer for the present chureli site. Mr. King has offered £SOO for the section on which the church stands, and will remove the church at his own expense to a sit* to be selected by the church authorities. The chair was occupied by the vicar (Rev. E. L. Harvie), who gave full particulars of the offer. After considerable discussion it was decided, on the motion of Mr. C. E. Hamerton. seconded by Mr. F. Brown, "That this meeting of parishioners recommends the Synod to accept Mr. King's offer in terms of his letter." The question of the new site was then discussed, and eventually it was decided that the matter of the purchase of a site be left in the hands of the vestry, with full power to act, and that this meeting recommends the purchase of Mr. Tarple's property. On account, of the inclemency of the weather, the Tennis and Croquet Club could not hold the official opening on Thursday, but, weather permitting, the opening will take place next Thursday. The monthly medal competition was played on the golf links on Thursday in a fairly strong wind. G. Gudgeon proved the winner with a gross 83, net 75.
