TAKING NO RISKS A JUSTIFIABLE ERROR. Washington. Oct. A, A United States warship fired on an Italian submarine, presumably in the Mediterranean, 'killing an officer and a seaman. The Italian submarine failed to respond to signals. Mr. Daniels, Secretary for the Xavy, has apologised to Italy.
