A CONTUMACIOUS BANKRUPT. By Telegraph.—Pross Association. Wellington, Oct. 5. At a meeting of the creditors of A. W. •Jehacf, who recently had judgment given against liim in a slander case concerning two young women, bankrupt declined to give any information as to what he had done with the money he had drawn out of the bank in the last few weeks. He said that he realised he ran the risk of going to gaol, but was prepared to take it out. He vehemently declared that he was the subject of a conspiracy. He admitted that he had obtained £ISOO above the mortgages on the sale of recent property, but declined to say what he had done with the money. Bankrupt refused to sign his evidence, and counsel for the creditors asked that steps be taken to bring bankrupt before the Supreme Court.
