BOWLING.
OPENING DAY AT WAITARA. Favored by fine weather after the heavy downpour on Wednesday night, there was a large attendance on the Waitara green yesterday, when the opening match of the season was played between the president's and vice-president's teams, representatives from the Fitzroy. Inglewood and New Plymouth Clubs being present. The green was in capital order, and an enjoyable afternoon's play resulted in a win for the vice-president, by 91 to 81 points. The usual felicitations were expressed, and the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea, in thaiprofuse hospitality for which Waitara is deservedly noted.
