N.P. DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
OPENING OF THE SEASON. The New Plymouth Defence. Rifle Club was favored with fine weather for the opening of the season yesterday, and consequently there was a fair attendance at the Rewa Rewa range. Additional interest was added by the presence of teams from Inglewood and Urcnui Clubs, who were competing in a triangular match with the local club. It was intended to fire at three ranges, but time only permitted of the 300 and 500 yards ranges being got off, the local team winning by the narrow margin of six points. Nine men in each team shot, but only eight counted in the match. The day was a fair one for shooting, the wind being steady. At the 500 yards range there was some good shooting, Rifleman Short scoring the possible, and Riflemen Oliver and Short (Inglewood) all but. Detailed scores:— New Plymouth. 300 500 Tl. Rfm. W. F.
