The following letter was received by the Minister of Defence in the House to-night from Division General Anthoine, commanding the First ■JV«v«.-'ii Armv to Field Marshal Sir Douglas Hah?. Com-mnndcr-m-Chicf of the' Br:tL:'.i Army: Marshal:—At the moment when New Zealand troops are preparing to leave the First French Army, I feel impelled to acquaint you with the splendid conduct of all the British troops which you 'have been good enough to place at my disposal. Infantry battalions, engineers battalions, and labor companies have vied with each other in displaying ardor in their work, and in good behaviour, I thank you very sincerely for the valuable help they have afforded tj the First Army..
