Mr. Seaddan, ex-Premier, has been defeated. WESTRALIAN ELECTIONS. ■Perth, Oct. 2. In connection with the- elections for the Legislative Assembly manv returns are still incomplete, but' Nationalists are sure of a good majority. Mr. Welson, ex-Premier, was defeated. The olßeial Labor party has gained the Geraldton ■and Fremantle seats. EIGHT HOURS DEMONSTRATION. Sydney, Oct. 1. • The weather was fine for the annual eight hours demonstration, in which eighty-five unions participated There •was an excellent banner display, but evidence of the recent happenings was given by the thinner numbers of marching members as compared with previous years.
