Maximum prices for New Zealand hemp have been fixed as follows: Good fair £S4; high point fair .€B2: Al £Bl. Rubber.—Para 3s 2jd; plantation and ■smoked 2s 0 5-Sd. Mutton.—Australian fl'/id. Otluv meate unchanged. Rabbits.—Very scarce, with strong demand. The Greek currant crop is estimated at 130,000 tons, _ Silver has reached the highest point since IS7B, and there are no signs of weakening. China is paying large premiums to San Francisco, while America is buying for the subsidiary coinage in a hardening market.
