RIFLE SHOOTING.
NEW .PLYMOUTH DEFENCE CLUB. The sub-committee appointed to deal with the opening day function, which will be held on the Rewa Rewa range on Thursday, October 4 next, has adopted the following programme: Shooting to start at 2 p.m.; ranges to ba 200, 300 and 500 yards, 7 shots at. each and one optional sighter. The Inglewood and Ur'enM Rifle Clubs to be invited to contest i. triangular match, teams, to consist of eight men aside. A match is to be fired by the club members present; a presi dent's and deputy president's teitm t be selected on the ground (ammunition can be purchased at headquarters office. Currie street). Ladies are to be asked to assist in the afternoon tea requirements. Prizes won during last season will be presented. The committee hopes. to see a good attendance of the public supporters and friends; also members of the club, in good force.
