The name of Clarence Henry Lillys son of Mr. J. Lilly, of Kaimiro, Ingle* wood, appears in the latest casualty, list among those. ?f. the.mfitt.killed in action.
Mr. A. N. Baker, who was not long! ago transferred from Napisr to tha local post office, waß recently accepted on enlistment, and will jrtoeesd tb camp after a short holiday. .On ftiday the postal officers presented him with some! useful requisites as a parting, gift. Mr. Edward Martin, a veteran of tha 65th Regiment, died at the Veterans' Home, Auckland, on Tuesday*, at the ago of 82. Mr. Martin came to New Zealand with a draft of the 58th Regiment in 1852. After being stationed at the Bay of Islands for two years he camo to Auckland to join the 65th Regiment. Ha took part in several engagements in tha Maori war. In 1865 he obtained his discharge from the arrny and started famn ing. In April, 1910, he entered the Vet< erans' Home.
The Military Cross has been awarded to Captain Keith Murray, of ,the Royal Flying Corps. Captain Murray, who it an old King's College boy. and a grandson of the late Mr. .T. 0, George of New ■Plymouth, left Auckland in March,,lfllo, and passed through his training in England. He went to Franco in August of the same year, and was .promoted flightcommander in March, 1916. He was mertioned in Sir Douglas Haig's first die patch, and agaijn in dispatches of Juna last. Captain Murray has been continue ously engaged in the firing line since No* vember last. '■„.•','' •

He is survived by a widow and family of three daughters and three tons, one of whom, Sergeant "A. L. Humphries, is at present in camp.
