monthly meeting?. The monthly- meeting of the JJW 'Plymouth Harbor Board wag held yesterday afternoon. Present-: Messrs Newton King (chairman), C. E. Bellringer, E. Dockrill, J. iMcClqggage, j. S. Connett, D, J. Hughes and, 0. McGuianeaa, HARBORMASTER'S REPORT.The harbormaster, Captain Waller, reported that during the five weeks ending September 13, 22 vessels of a grtjßs tonnago of ,13,855 had entered the port. The exports amounted to 4833 tons and the imports to 4'<3G tons, a total of 5299 toils 8 inwards and outwards. . I The report was adopted, I WORKS REPORT. . g The superintendent of works (Mr, F. I Henderson) reported that during the five I weeks ending on the Istli inst., the | Paritutu had dredged on 23 days, the net time being 198 hours and removed a total quantity of I'D,OOO tons of spoil in 49 loads of which 17 were lifted from the first cross channel cut and 32 from the the west side of the wharf and fairway. The first cut across the channel had been completed the length being aibout 400 feet and the width 135 feet, the total quantity of material removed being 35 loads and the time occupied 15 days. It would thus take about 105 working days to complete the channel to a depth of 28 feet. The Thomas King dredged on 17 days, the net time being 104 hours, and removed iftiQO tons in 57 loads, of whloli ' 21 wcro lifted with the Priest man grab from tho eastern side of the wharf and the remainder from the breakwater bank with the sand pump. Two new piles had been driven at the wept side of the wharf. Three concrete blocks had been placed on the breakwater and repairs , effected to Simpson's house. The wharf piles throughout the lensrth of 300 feet a'bout the middle of the deep berth had been closely examined by the diver and • withi one exception all the piles were found to !be in good condition. The report was adopted} ■ GENERAIi,. < : The Northern Steamship Company, acknowledged with thanks the reduction of the wharfage charge on bunker coal to Is per ton but asked, that their vessels be wholly exempted from charges for bunker coal for future use.—Reply to be sent that the Board regretted being unable to accede to the request. Accounts amounting to £9 , 105 were passed for payment and the (Board went into committee to deal with other business.
