TWO SUBMARINES SUNK OFF THE SHETLANDS. Christiania, Sept. 10. The Tidcns Tegn states that an armed steamer, British or American, sank a German submarine while it was shelling a neutral sailing vessel off the Shetlands. During the fight a second submarine attacked the steamer. A British destroyer sank the second submarine and rescued six: survivors

The Norwegian steamers Facto and Thomas Krag have been submarined. Two in each crew were lost.
