I MOXTIILY MEETING. j The monthlv meeting of members of the Pukekura" Park Board was held on the prounds on Thursday, ] resell . Messrs R. C. 'Hughes (chairman), b. Percy-Smith, 11. Ford. W. L. Newman, K. Cock, and C. E. Bellringer. The committee inspected the major portion of the grounds. As to the proposal to remove tcc old shed used by footballers and cricketers, members recognised it was an evesore, but owing to lack of funds it was decided to allow it to remain but to add some slight improvements. In this eonnnction the board has in view the holding of a fete dav during the summer, by which it is hoped to raise sullicient funds to permit the erection of a pavilion. The roof of the tea rooms was reported to be leaky, and it was decided to cover same with iron. Ferns are to be planted on the embankment formed by the racecourse committee behind the people's stand. Regarding the Vogeltown entrance io the park, the board appointed Messrs Hellrin"er and Cock a committee to cooperate with the Vogeltown residents with a view to raising funds for placing a gate at the entrance. The Curator (Mr. W. W. Smith) was instructed to select for purchase a number of palms from a, list supplied by Mr. Clement Wraggc, of Auckland. Owing to lack of funds the board was compelled to postpone completion of the lake, near the racecourse, laid out by Mr. Percy-Smith. It is expected that a series of moonlight concerts will be held in the, park during the summer. Funds are urgently needed to enable the board to effect the improvements the members have in view.
