Amsterdam, Sept. 0. i The Vienna, correspondent of the Hambnrper Nachrichten denounces the renewed activities of the influential circle in Austria-Hungary working for the speedy termination of the war. The Rachspost declares that since the beginning of August Austria has bee* exerting the strongest pressure to induce Germany towards peace, and has been sending feelers in other directions, especially London. It concludes that if Germany fails to yield to Austrian prwsure it is very possible an agreement may shortly be reached with Down, ing street without Germany. GERMAN CHANCELLOR'S STATEMENT. Received September 10, 5.5 p.m. Copenhagen, Sept. 9. A great sensation has been caused in Germany by Dr. Michaelis' declaration that Germany will shortly be able to publish her peace terms.
