INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was held on Friday evening, the Rev. Harvie presiding. The report and balance-sheet showed that the club opened the season with a credit balence of £l9 17s Sd, and members' subscriptions amounted to £.">!■ 2s (Id. against. £4G 15s last year. During the year the following extra expense was incurred: Tarring courts, £l2; top dressing croquet lawn, £2 0s 3d; painting pavilion, .£5 10s; new mower, £l2; total, £32 0s 3d. The credit balance was 4s 2d, which must be considered satisfactory when the heavy expenditure of last year is taken into consideration. The election of officers resulted as follows: President. Mr. J. Sutherland: secretary and treasurer. Mr. IT. Williams: committee, Messrs Cuttleld. Wagslaff and Armstrong. It was decided to alter the title of the club from the Ingb'wow! Tennis Club to the Inglewood Tennis and Croquet Club. The opening day was fived for October 11. ami will lake the form of a local tournament. The golf championship has progressed another stage. C. O'Carroll beat Sutherland, 3 anil 1; and Gudgeon beat Marshall S and 7. The children's fancy dress ball on Friday evening was most successful Mes-.rs Wagstaff and Caldwell acted as M.'sC and kept things going merrily. Firstclass music was supplied by Miss Curd (piano), Stockman (clarionette), and Lamb (cornet). Tho ladies' committee had charge of the supper arrangements. and catered in a manner which left nothing to be desired. Miss Kiordan was again in the right place as secretary, and the Red Cross benefits to the extent of about £2O.
