MARLBOROUGH DEFEATS NELSON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Sept. S. Marlborough boat Nelson at Rugby hy 14 to nil. All the Marlborough players wore under '2O years of age. and played with tlio old time dash, Xelson defending during the most of the game. AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. Wellington, Sept. 7. There was fine weather for the Auckland v. Wellington Rugby match, played at the Athletic Park this afternoon. The game, though not brilliant, was keen and interesting. Wellington soon proved tlie superior team, and played a better concerted game. The score at half-time was 13 to 8", and the final '2l to 11. At the Recreation Grouuds on Saturday, Central beat a team from Waihi by 14 points to nil. Mr. Bullians referred. The visitors were afterwards entertained to afternoon tea at the Central School. At a meeting of the Wellington Riurby Union on Tuesday evening. .1. M'L. M'Arthnr, of the Poneke Football Club, was disqualified for live years on a charge of playing while over age. Since the war an age-limit of 20 years has been made in Wellington, and the allegation was thai M'Arthur was 23 years. In connection with the matter, the captain of the team (Montgomery) was suspended • for three months.
