EGMONT NATIONAL PARK BOARD.
'An ordinary meeting of the Egmont National Park Board was held yesterday forenoon. Present: Messrs G. H. Billiard (chairman), A. S. Tonks, C. Good- ; son, E. Dingle, P». McK. Morrison, J. R. Hill, W. A. Collis, and S. Percy Smith. The chairman and Messrs Hill, Morrison, Percy-Smith and Goodson were appointed with such other members of the board as can attend to inspect work a and with power to act. The resignation of Mr. H. Tvitchingman as a member of the board was aci edited, and the secretary instructed to j ask the Opunake Town Board to nominlute a successor. The secretary reported that under the A<it constituting tile board Mr. P. vVill- | cox had vacated his seat by over three months absence from the Dominion, and was instructed to notify the Egmont County Council to that effect so that | a successor may be nominated. A draft balance sheet was adopted and it was decided to transfer from the bal- | ance standing to the credit of the South of the guarantors' account, Mr. Goodson ] to supply details of amount required, j It was resolved that all monies received at the respective houses and toll gates bo paid in full to the secretary of the hoard, and that the proportion due to employees ho remitted by the secretary forthwith. The action of the chairman in appointing Mr. Hugh Baily secretary to the board was confirmed. It was resolved that the committee managing the North Hostelry be requested to pay into the board's account all park fees collected by them at the hostel, the board to repay to the committee the amount of the fees less the amount which may be used by the board for , road and track upkeep. • It was decided that in the event of the North Hostelry Committee undertaking the management of the Old House and cottage, they be allowed half the ' fees collected by them, they to pay the | full amount to the board's account and the board to refund half. It was decided not to charge park fees to returned soldiers sent to any of the houses by a patriotic committee. Accounts amounting to £6-1 5s 5d were passed for payment and the ooard adjourned, it being agreed to hold the next meeting at Hawera.
