DAIRY FACTORY MEETINGS.
PIHAMA. The annual meeting of the above company was held on Saturday, when there was a good attendance of shareholders. The report stated: Milk received for hutter-making, 980,2581n5; bntter-fat •ll.SOllbs; butter made, o(),9131l>s; lbs of milk to lb of butter, 19.2; overrun, 21.2 per cent; .average teat, 4.2; milk received for cheese-making 11,438,84f11b5; butter-fat, 425,2021b.*; cheese made, 1,11(i,2871b5; lbs of milk to lb of cheese, 10.2; lbs of cheese to lb of butter-fat.. 2.624; average test, 3.71 lbs. - Whey butter to tlu value of £lß7l 5s 4d was made during the cheese-making period. Payments were made during the year on butter-fat as follows: July, August, September, October, November, Is 2d; December, January, February, March, April, May, Is; Juno, Is 4d. In June a further payment of 4cl per lb was made on all fat from July to May inclusive, and it is now proposed to make a further payment over the cheese-mak-ing periods of 2'/ B d per lb. The total receipts for the year wen £62,928, whereof £13,34G was a balance from previous year, cheese sales £41,578, butter £5074. The following were elected directors for the ensuing year: Messrs G. Looney, R. Lambie, Jun., C. Malcolm, J. Pettlgrew, F. Julian, S. Campbell, and S. Richards. Mr. 6. Looney was re-elected chairman. MAKAHU, The shareholders of the Makahu Dairy Company held their fourteenth annual meeting at the factory on Tuesday, Mr F. K. Kopke, chairman of direct tors, presiding. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The total pay-out for the season was 1.0:{ per lb butterfat. The following are the details of the factory working:—Milk received 73C.4501b5, average test 3.78, butter-fat 27,8041b5, cheese (factory weight) 72,!K)3lbs, milk to lib cheese, 10.10, lb cheese to 1 lb butter-fat 2.G1. The cause of a good deal of discussion was the fact that the company's manager had been drawn in the ballot. The factory is now running, and the company will. be compelled to lodge an appeal for his exemption. Mr. A. Coyne was re-elected to the directorate. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr. A. Coyne was appointed chairman.—i Post.
