A story having been published to, tha effect that the liquor trade had made a proposal to sell out to the Government at a price between five and six millions, the matter was brought under Mr. Massey's notice to-day,* Ho replied that no such offer to sell had been made to the Government, nor had the Cabinet been approached in any way regarding a -.pixK posal of the sort.
