THE PIERROTS.

GENERAL MEETING. A general meeting of the. New Plymouth. Pierrots was held in the Soldiers' Club on Tuesday night, Mr. J. C. Morey presiding. On the recommendation of the executive committee it wo- decided to form the Pierrots into a permanent organisation, and the following office bearers were elected:—Patron, the Mayor (Mr. C. H. Burgess);. president, Mr. H. S. Bro'okman; chairman of general and committee meetings, Mr. J. McLeod; committee, Messrs J. Conncil, J. C, Morey, P. J. Flannagan, C. C. Ward, F. Honan, F. Ebcrlet; treasurer, Mr. J. H. Fowler; secretary, Mr. R. H. George. The entrance fee 'was fixed at as, members to he nominated and elected by ballot. It was decided that sixteen Pierrots should assist at ''Waitara Day," to be held at Waitara on September 15, some to help with raffles and some for selling, and that if possible the Pierrots Singing Troupe go out at night. On the,, motion of Mr. Flairaagan it w r as decided that the members should have a distinguishing badge. The chairman; said he had been asked at Inglewood if some of the Pierrots would go out and help in'-, a demonstration -proposed to be held there. He had Teplied that he was sure the Pierrots would willingly help, but asked for at least three 'weeks' notice of the probable date. Of course so far the matter had not gone further than a mere suggestion. Tho.treasurer stated that the aceounta in. connection with the Thousand-Pound Day had been finally settled, £1785 having been handed over to the Patriotic Society and £'2s to the Red Cross SoI ciety, making: £lBlO in all. The balanco sheet had been published and showed that everything had 'been paid over, I leaving the Society with no funds at all. 'He suggested that some steps should be j taken to form tho nucleus of a fund. j On the motion of Mr. J. Clarke it was decided to offer the services of the Pierrots to tho Returned Soldiers' Association to assist, if. required, on the "Big Push" Day. 5
