THE EMPIRE.
A CELEBRATED NOVEL FILMED. tlmile Zola's -world-famous novel, "Nantas," has been put into motion pictures by the Moss-Frohmann Art Drama* under the title of "A Man and The Woman," and will be presented at the Empire to-ni«ht and to-morrow. The original story, which aroused the whole world to discussion when it was first published, has been followed closely in the adaptation, only the locale being changed in the screen version from Paris to New York. "Xantas" is the story of a great love, and lays bare the noble heart of a. true and brave woman, and an equally noble man. Another man. anything but noble, figures in the story, and causes many scenes full of dramatic interest and appeal to be enacted before'the chief characters work out their destiny. It is a fine photo-play, superbly produced, and fascinating to a surprising degree. Supporting pictures include "The Australian Gazette," "Beavers Preparing their Svinter Home," a Ditinar educational film, and a humorous cub coafedy, "His Blushing Bride."
